Baseball Recap: Boothbay Seahawks vs. Richmond Bobcats
Boothbay had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 8-10 to make it ten. They lost 13-0 to the Richmond Bobcats. Considering the last time the Seahawks couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.
As for Richmond, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 18-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average this season.
For Richmond's part, Rhys Terry was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Terry has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Ben Fournier was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Cale Harrington was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
As of now, neither Boothbay nor Richmond have any future games scheduled.
