Basketball Recap: Bowman Academy Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Bowman Academy lost to River Forest back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Bowman Academy Eagles walked away with a 36-29 victory over the River Forest Ingots. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Bowman Academy had a senior duo take command as Kahlen Robinson posted 17 points along with seven boards and six steals and Janiyah Jackson put up 11 points and eight rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least a third of Bowman Academy's points.

River Forest lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Khaliya Randell, who earned 14 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Randell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayna Cary, who had three points along with eight boards and four steals.

Bowman Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for River Forest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Bowman Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 84-55 defeat against Hammond Morton on the 28th. As for River Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 29-28 loss against Gary West Side on the 28th.
