Basketball Recap: Jordan Comes Up Short

Jordan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Spencer Greenwave and fell 81-54. While losing is never fun, the Red Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Greenwave are ranked 136th).

Spencer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zyquan Bright, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Bright a new career-high in points. Kerry Griffin was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Jordan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Spencer, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan will head out to challenge Shaw at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spencer, they will venture away from home to face off against Hardaway at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. Spencer is facing Hardaway at the right time seeing as Hardaway is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
