Isabella is a perfect 10-0 against Billingsley since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will face off against the Bears at 6:30 p.m. Isabella will be strutting in after a win while Billingsley will be coming in after a defeat.

Isabella was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Verbena 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since February 25th.

Maleigh Mcgualliard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, Isabella let Natalie Smithermen and Aubreigh Davenport run wild. Smithermen scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Davenport scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Ashley Wells also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Billingsley scored first but ultimately less than Thorsby in their game on Thursday. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 9-8. The Bears have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Sadie Primm was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. McKenna Manning was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

The victory got Isabella back to even at 5-5. As for Billingsley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Isabella beat Billingsley 10-7 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
