Football Preview: Council Rock North Indians vs. Quakertown Panthers

The Council Rock North Indians will take on the Quakertown Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Council Rock North is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row dating back to last season, Council Rock North finally turned things around against Harry S. Truman on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers , sneaking past 16-13. The Indians' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Quakertown was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Souderton 35-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

A big part of Quakertown's victory came down to the chemistry between Brady Martin and his top target Aiden Burgy. Martin threw for 363 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt while Burgy picked up 193 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Burgy torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 71 yards.

Council Rock North's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Quakertown, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Council Rock North took a serious blow against Quakertown when the teams last played back in October of 2023, falling 50-7. Thankfully for Council Rock North, Ed Bittner (who rushed for 57 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
