Cabrini proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 19) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Dearborn Pioneers 8-7. The Monarchs haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Catherine Schumm made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Schumm was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Raquel Zamarron was excellent, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Jodi Browning also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Cabrini will head out to challenge Jefferson at 4:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Dearborn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crestwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.27 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
