Volleyball Recap: Corvian Community Cardinals vs. Pine Lake Prep Pride

Corvian Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Pine Lake Prep Pride. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Pride when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Corvian Community was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-11, 25-23.

Jaeda Steele paced Corvian Community's offense, picking up six kills. Steele got some help from Leah Harris and her 21 assists. Harris was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Leading Pine Lake Prep to victory were Payton Bielec and Lauren Selvido. Bielec had 16 assists and three aces, while Selvido had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs Selvido has posted since back in August of 2024.

Corvian Community now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Pine Lake Prep, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
