Softball Recap: Avon Park Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Avon Park can now relate to. They lost 12-2 to the Bishop Verot Vikings on Wednesday. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avon Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinley DeLoach, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double. Another was Skylar Hicks, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Avon Park's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Bishop Verot, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Avon Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop Verot, they will take on Berkeley Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
