Football Preview: Hawthorne Cougars vs. West Warriors
Hawthorne has been away from home for four games now, but on Friday they'll finally make their return. They will welcome the West Warriors at 7:00 p.m.
Hawthorne's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against El Segundo on Friday. They were dealt a 36-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West). They claimed a resounding 53-0 victory over Morningside at home. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Daniel Reamer had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Justin Jaimes was in the mix as well, providing West with two touchdowns.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Hawthorne's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for West, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
