Softball Recap: Warren Woods-Tower Takes a Loss

Warren Woods-Tower couldn't beat Marine City on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Titans fell 11-6 to the Mariners. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Atiana Guzman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Strunk, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Warren Woods-Tower's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Marine City, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Warren Woods-Tower and Marine City could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Titans (ranked 181st) will meet Lutheran North (ranked 20th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Marine City will challenge Hartland at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (221 vs. 83).
