A-6 Central (6 Man) recap Oct. 3, 2012

Hi-Plains extended the longest winning streak in A-6 Central (6 Man) this week by beating Edison, 36-33. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Patriots.

Hi-Plains and the Eagles played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Hi-Plains eventually emerging with a 36-33 victory.

Arickaree's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Leoffler threw for 39 and one touchdown and Conner Ely had 26 yards receiving. On the ground Leoffler chipped in 117 yards. Joel Lopez helped Arickaree's passing attack out by catching one ball for 13 yards.

Ely made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Indians beat Idalia. The 5-foot-9 senior forced one fumble and racked up one sack.

Hi-Plains' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Clayton Cordell has thrown for 556 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Justin Miltenberger has 14 catches for 250 yards. Alex Nelson leads the league in rushing with 760 yards.

A big matchup in A-6 Central (6 Man) this week will be when Dave Sheffield's team takes on Arickaree. As it stands, the Patriots are in first, while David Saffer's team is in third.

There should be lots of points scored when Hi-Plains and the Indians face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Patriots comes in having scored 220 this season, while Arickaree has scored 185. Hi-Plains scored 36 points last week as it topped Edison.

The Indians led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on the Wolves. Leoffler in the win.
