Volleyball Recap: Pendleton Heights Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Carmen Horn and Stella Short

If Pendleton Heights was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Anderson on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Arabians lost 3-0 to the Westfield Shamrocks on Thursday. The Arabians haven't had much luck with the Shamrocks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-15.

Pendleton Heights' loss came despite strong showings from Stella Short and Carmen Horn. Short had 12 digs and two assists, while Horn had nine kills, five digs, and two blocks. Horn is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 20 games she's played dating back to last season.

Westfield was led to victory by Kenna Robinson and Emily Blevins. Robinson had 12 digs and 12 assists, while Blevins had 14 assists and seven digs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pendleton Heights fell to 2-1. As for Westfield, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Pendleton Heights will be taking part in a tournament against Lawrence North at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Westfield, they will welcome Trinity Lutheran at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
