Basketball Game Preview: Keys Cougars vs. Sequoyah Indians

Keys and Sequoyah are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Keys Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Sequoyah Indians at 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

Last Monday, Keys ended up a good deal behind Okay and lost 57-41. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sequoyah, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 win over Okemah on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since January 12, 2024.

Sequoyah's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Keys, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Keys came up short against Sequoyah in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 72-67. Can Keys avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
