Softball Preview: Liberty Indians vs. Port Jervis Raiders        
        
		
            Liberty is 0-3 against Port Jervis since April of 2024 but things could change  on Thursday. The Indians will host the Raiders  at 4:30  p.m. The two teams are strolling into their  matches after big wins in their previous games.
Liberty is headed in fresh off scoring the most  runs they have   all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Fallsburg  a   22-0 shutout  on Wednesday. With that  victory, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 6.2  runs per game.

She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. She also  hit a  double, marking her first of the season.
 In other batting news, Liberty got a  massive  performance out of  Giuliana Wagner, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with five  RBI and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Cameryn Will, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and one  run.
 Liberty  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .729. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in April of 2024.
 Meanwhile, Port Jervis had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by  a  10-0 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Raiders have won five games by more than seven  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Port Jervis pushed their record up to 5-3 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, their  win (their first of the  season) made their record 1-7.
