Softball Game Preview: Fairfax Stampede vs. North Mustangs

For the second straight game, Fairfax will face off against North. The Stampede will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Fairfax will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against North on Monday. The Stampede came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 12-7. The Stampede haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

For North's part, Solis Coker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and seven unearned) runs on one hit and racked up seven Ks. Coker has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, North saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Athena Suazo, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

North moved to 8-10 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Fairfax, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
