Soccer Game Preview: Basha vs. Chaparral

Basha hasn't had much luck against Chaparral recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Basha Bears are taking a road trip to square off against the Chaparral Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Basha will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Monday, then bounced right back against Sunrise Mountain on Tuesday. Basha was the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Sunrise Mountain.

Meanwhile, Chaparral had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let Campo Verde onto the board and left with a 5-0 win on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Firebirds as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Their offense was hitting Campo Verde from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Chaparral pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five matches. As for Basha, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
