Basketball Game Preview: D'Evelyn Jaguars vs. Golden Demons

D'Evelyn has won 13 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Golden has won 13 straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The D'Evelyn Jaguars will host the Golden Demons at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (D'Evelyn: 29.6, Golden: 28.5) so any points scored will be well earned.

On Saturday, D'Evelyn earned a 45-38 victory over Dakota Ridge. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Eagles are ranked 196th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

D'Evelyn's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Giada Lampert, who posted 11 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Colleen Monahan, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Golden's strategy against Conifer on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Golden blew Conifer out of the water with a 64-25 final score. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 22 points or more this season.

D'Evelyn's victory bumped their record up to 17-0. As for Golden, their win bumped their record up to 17-2.

D'Evelyn strolled past Golden when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 46-30. Will D'Evelyn repeat their success, or does Golden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
