Basketball Recap: Windham Sets Scoring Season-High Against Harding

Windham proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 21) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Harding Skippers 71-68. The Bombers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Harding saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Yomar Castellano went 12 of 26 on his way to 33 points and six rebounds. Castellano is becoming a predictor of Harding's success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Beardslee, who posted four points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

The win got Windham back to even at 4-4. As for Harding, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.

Windham will face off against Grand Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Windham has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Harding, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-59 loss against Riverside on the 11th.
