Volleyball Game Preview: Benton Zephyrs vs. Cassville Comets

The Benton Zephyrs will face off against the Cassville Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Benton and nine for Cassville.

Benton came up short against Highland on Thursday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-9, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Cassville came up short against Belmont on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

While Cassville ultimately came up short, they really made Belmont work, particularly in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-15, 20-25, 25-8, 26-24.

Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Cassville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's contest: Benton has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.1 aces per game. However, it's not like Cassville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Benton beat Cassville 3-1 when the teams last played on September 4th. Will the Zephyrs repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
