Basketball Recap: Cape Hatteras Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Cape Hatteras had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 61-18 victory over the Albemarle School Colts. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Hurricanes had established a 38-point advantage.

Cape Hatteras got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Hickman out in front who went 8-for-11 to rack up 16 points. Hickman's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Kyndle Stowe was another key player, shooting 56% from the field en route to 11 points and eight boards.

Cape Hatteras was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Albemarle School only posted four.

Albemarle School lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Anna Sherlock, who posted four points.

Cape Hatteras wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-26 loss against Northside - Pinetown on the 20th. As for Albemarle School, they have also already played their next matchup, a 35-7 defeat against Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech on the 19th.
