Soccer Game Preview: Cardinal Gibbons vs. Middle Creek + How To Watch

The Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders are taking a road trip to challenge the Middle Creek Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Cardinal Gibbons is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Holly Springs on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Hawks. The shutout was out of character for Cardinal Gibbons seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middle Creek). Everything went their way against Sanderson on Wednesday as they made off with a 7-0 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Middle Creek's offense was hitting Sanderson from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Jack Frary led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

The win made it two in a row for Middle Creek and bumps their season record up to 11-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those two matchups. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-6.
