Baseball Recap: Hutto Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mccallum

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hutto). They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the McCallum Knights on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hippos as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jadon Salas was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Salas wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hutto kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hutto's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for McCallum, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hutto will welcome Cedar Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Ridge's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Hutto's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for McCallum, they will be playing at home against Navarro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Navarro has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.4 runs per game on average), something McCallum will no doubt try to take advantage of.
