Basketball Recap: La Quinta Takes a Loss

After soaring to 68 points the game before, La Quinta was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They were dealt a 78-17 loss at the hands of the Corona del Mar Sea Kings. While losing is never fun, the Aztecs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 565th, while the Sea Kings are ranked 34th).

La Quinta now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Corona del Mar, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

La Quinta won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Esperanza at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Esperanza knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully La Quinta likes a good challenge. As for Corona del Mar, they will square off against Ocean View at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
