Softball Recap: Green Canyon Comes Up Short

If Green Canyon was feeling good fresh off their 20-7 takedown of Provo last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Green Canyon took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridgeline Riverhawks on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Quincey White made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Megan Carter, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Green Canyon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgeline only posted a batting average of .208.

Green Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Ridgeline, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Green Canyon will face off against Sky View at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridgeline, they will challenge Davis at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
