Baseball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion blew Greene County Tech out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Greene County Tech got their revenge. The Patriots fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 10-8. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly two runs.

Coleman Barnett was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Henry, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one run.

Marion is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-15. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs. As for Greene County Tech, their win bumped their record up to 20-2.

While Marion had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
