Preview: Tekonsha Indians vs. Mendon Hornets

The Tekonsha Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mendon Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tekonsha focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Thursday.

After soaring to 58 points the game before, Tekonsha were a bit more limited in their game. They were outmatched by Hillsdale Academy on the road and fell 59-25.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Reagan Henry, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Veenkant, who scored seven points.

Meanwhile, Mendon entered their tilt with Athens with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Mendon managed a 33-28 victory over Athens last Friday. Given Mendon's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Athens is ranked 396th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tekonsha dropped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.6 points per game. As for Mendon, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
