Baseball Game Preview: North Sunflower Academy Rebels vs. West Memphis Christian Black Knights

For the first time this season, North Sunflower Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to challenge the West Memphis Christian Black Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Friday just wasn't the day for North Sunflower Academy's offense. They came up short against Calhoun Academy on Friday, falling 12-0. The loss continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, West Memphis Christian won against DeSoto on Monday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. West Memphis Christian had just enough and edged out DeSoto 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Black Knights.

Cannon Morgan was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Morgan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Xander Skoff, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was Skoff's first of the season. Another was Terry Sharp, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
