Softball Recap: Seventy-First Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Seventy-First's offense. They came up short against the Gray's Creek Bears on Tuesday, falling 18-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Tuesday.

Seventy-First's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Gray's Creek, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seventy-First will venture away from home to challenge Cape Fear at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gray's Creek, they will head out to take on Pinecrest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.31 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
