Baseball Recap: Chatfield Comes Up Short

Chatfield came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Arvada West Wildcats by a score of 4-2 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Chargers in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Riley Suddath was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

Chatfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Arvada West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season.

Chatfield will challenge Valor Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Arvada West, they will face off against Bear Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
