Baseball Recap: Whitmire Takes a Loss

Whitmire's last matchup with Abbeville could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Wednesday. The Wolverines lost 8-2 to the Panthers. The Wolverines' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Whitmire saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian Steele, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Steele is becoming a predictor of the Wolverines' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-10 when he doesn't).

Whitmire's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Abbeville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.
