Basketball Recap: Derryfield Comes Up Short

Derryfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Newport Tigers 77-46.

Derryfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Newport, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Derryfield will host Profile at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Newport, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hinsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newport knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Hinsdale likes a good challenge.
