Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Tahoe). They breezed past the Sparks Railroaders to the tune of 49-0 on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Vikings' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 474th in California, while the Railroaders are ranked 58th in Nevada).

One reason for the win was South Tahoe's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Conner Hennessee refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

The win got South Tahoe back to even at 4-4. As for Sparks, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Tahoe will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Spring Creek at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Sparks, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Elko at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' defense has only allowed 8.5 points per game this season, so the Railroaders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
