Football Game Preview: Des Moines Christian Lions vs. Nevada Cubs

The Des Moines Christian Lions will face off against the Nevada Cubs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Des Moines Christian challenged Knoxville on Friday. The Lions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 38-11. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nevada). They blew past Saydel, posting a 56-0 win. Given the Cubs' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Eagles are ranked 246th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Des Moines Christian's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points over those games. As for Nevada, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
