Recap: Salem Hills Skyhawks vs. Spanish Fork Dons
The Salem Hills Skyhawks were the 76-60 winner over the Spanish Fork Dons when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Salem Hills took a 83-73 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spanish Fork on Friday. That's two games in a row now that Salem Hills has lost by exactly ten points.
Salem Hills' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Degraffenried, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Hable, who scored 15 points.
Spanish Fork got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaron Dunn out in front who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds. Dunn is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Gage Christensen was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Salem Hills has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Spanish Fork, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-9.
Salem Hills will take on Wasatch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasatch is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Spanish Fork, they will head out on the road to take on Cedar Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Spanish Fork likes a good challenge.
