Basketball Recap: East Hill Christian Comes Up Short

East Hill Christian lost against Gulf Pointe Latin back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The East Hill Christian Eagles took a hard 47-29 fall against the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gladiators 11-5 in the first quarter.

Gulf Pointe Latin found their leader in sophomore Rebekah Thompson, who went 8 for 15 on her way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Thompson has scored at least a third of Gulf Pointe Latin's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacqueline Schnieders, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

East Hill Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Hill Christian will host Atmore Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. East Hill Christian is facing Atmore Christian at the right time seeing as Atmore Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they will challenge Aletheia Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
