Baseball Recap: South Granville Makes It Five in a Row at Home

South Granville proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Louisburg Warriors, sneaking past 3-2. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Cooper Wilkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, South Granville's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Evan Olson-Thornburg, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

South Granville's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Louisburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.
