Basketball Recap: Hun Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Blair Academy

On Saturday, Hun faced Blair Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Hun Raiders lost 84-58 to the Blair Academy Bucs. That makes it the first time this season the Raiders have let down their home crowd.

Hun's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabby D'Agostino, who posted 23 points and six assists. That was a full 39.7% of Hun's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Addi McNally, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 17 points.

Hun's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4. As for Blair Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Hun didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-53 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 19th. As for Blair Academy, they will challenge Paul VI at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
