Basketball Recap: Clearview Takes a Loss

Clearview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbia Raiders. The Clippers lost against the Raiders in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 64-26 score last time.

Columbia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alyssa Goebel, who went 9 of 10 en route to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Miller, who posted 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Clearview's record is now 2-9. As for Columbia, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Clearview will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Ridge Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Columbia, they will venture away from home to challenge Open Door Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Columbia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
