Football Recap: North Rowan Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

North Rowan unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 39-20 fall against the West Rowan Falcons on Friday. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

North Rowan lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Dyaon Norman- Jackson, who picked up 131 receiving yards and one score. The team also got some help courtesy of A'Son Best, who picked up 125 receiving yards and one TD.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Rowan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devaunh White, who rushed for 152 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Those 152 rushing yards gave White a new career-high. Cooper Martin was another key back, rushing for 158 yards and one score.

North Rowan has already played their next matchup, a 40-36 defeat against Salisbury on the 29th. As for West Rowan, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 30-20 loss against Davie County on the 29th.
