Basketball Preview: Prince RVT Falcons vs. Avon Falcons
The Prince RVT Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Avon Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Prince RVT is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Prince RVT struggled with assists on Friday (the Beavers had 22 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Prince RVT was dealt a 83-43 defeat at the hands of the Beavers. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Prince RVT in their matchups with the Beavers: they've now lost three in a row.
Prince RVT's loss came about despite a quality game from Anthony Hernandez, who scored seven points along with six rebounds. Mason Mansfield was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Avon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They suffered a tough 75-53 loss at the hands of Cromwell. While losing is never fun, Avon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Panthers are ranked 39th).
Prince RVT has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Avon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
