Basketball Game Preview: Clarksville Academy Cougars vs. Goodpasture Christian Cougars

The Clarksville Academy Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Goodpasture Christian Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarksville Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Clarksville Academy turned things around against Friendship Christian on Friday. They really took it to the Commanders for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-35 win. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 27 point advantage.

It was another big night for Anna Hellums, who went 5 of 7 en route to 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Vicky Anderson was another key player, going 6 for 8 on her way to 13 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Goodpasture Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 55-37 fall against Nashville Christian.

Goodpasture Christian's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 13-5. As for Clarksville Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

Clarksville Academy ended up a good deal behind Goodpasture Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, losing 66-47. Can Clarksville Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
