Basketball Game Preview: Tatum Eagles vs. Hooks Hornets

Tatum is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Edgewood 71-28. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

Meanwhile, Hooks came tearing into Monday's match with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 86-26 victory over the Eagles. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Eagles are ranked 1173rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hooks pushed their record up to 29-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points over those games. As for Tatum, their victory bumped their record up to 23-6.
