Basketball Recap: Foundation Christian Academy Drops Season-High Score on Gulf Coast HEAT

Foundation Christian Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to Gulf Coast HEAT 72-68. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51.8 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Foundation Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Caleb Hagan, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. Hagan's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Calvin Griffin, who posted 18 points.

Foundation Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Foundation Christian Academy will square off against Geneva Classical Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Foundation Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, they will venture away from home to square off against Bradenton Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gulf Coast HEAT knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Bradenton Christian likes a good challenge.
