Basketball Recap: Wayne Gets the Win

Norfolk Catholic came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Wayne, but Haley Kramer wouldn't allow it. The Wayne Blue Devils managed a 35-29 victory over the Norfolk Catholic Knights on Saturday thanks in part to Kramer, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Wayne's points.

Norfolk Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mallory Wolf, who scored 12 points. That's the most points Wolf has posted since back in December of 2024.

The win got Wayne back to even at 10-10. As for Norfolk Catholic, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-14.

Wayne will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wahoo at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th. Norfolk Catholic will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Crofton on February 13th.
