Basketball Recap: Westminster Comes Up Short

Westminster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Laguna Hills Hawks 92-42.

When it comes to explaining why Westminster lost, don't look at Kam Johnson. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. Those 27 points gave Johnson a new career-high. Ethan Cisneros was another key player, putting up seven points.

It was another big night for Jackson Burnham, who put up 57 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds for Laguna Hills. The matchup was Burnham's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Myles Mittelsteadt, who scored 13 points and seven boards.

Westminster's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Laguna Hills, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Westminster wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-43 defeat against Buena Park on the 10th. Laguna Hills has also already played their next contest, a 70-42 win against Santa Ana on the 10th.
