Baseball Recap: McKinley Takes a Loss

McKinley extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-4-1 in the process. They came up short against the City Honors Centaurs, falling 18-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Macks of the 20-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for City Honors, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 12-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.7 runs thus far.

For City Honors' part, the team relied heavily on Pavel Schneiderman, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Schneiderman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lev Schneiderman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Coming up, McKinley will venture away from home to face off against Riverside at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for City Honors, they will square off against Hutchinson-Central Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Centaurs 0.9, the Engineers 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
