Football Game Preview: Huntington Highlanders vs. Cabell Midland Knights

The Huntington Highlanders will square off against the Cabell Midland Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Huntington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Sevier County, who was ranked 19th in their home state at the time (Huntington was ranked second). The Highlanders took a 42-26 bruising from the Smoky Bears on Friday. The Highlanders' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Cabell Midland ended up a good deal behind Fairview on Friday and lost 56-41. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 21-14 in the first quarter.

Huntington's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Cabell Midland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for Huntington against Cabell Midland in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-7 win. Do the Highlanders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
