Softball Recap: Lewis Cass Has No Trouble Against Delphi Community

Lewis Cass was forced to take a big defeat against they on Saturday, they got the better of them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Delphi Community Oracles as they made off with a 14-6 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Kings' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Ruth (Amma) Fitzhugh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Laney Davis was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Hubner, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Lewis Cass' record now sits at 7-11. As for Delphi Community, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Lewis Cass will square off against Wabash at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Delphi Community, they will face off against Seeger at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th.
