Basketball Recap: Huntington Extends Winning Streak to Three

Huntington had won two straight games and Antonio Dixon did his part to make it three on Friday. The Huntington Raiders walked away with a 66-59 win over the Haughton Buccaneers thanks in part to Dixon, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Antonio Williams, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 15 points. Those 15 points gave him a new career-high.

Huntington's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Haughton, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.

Huntington and Haughton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. Huntington (ranked 38th) will meet Airline (ranked 129th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Haughton will take on North Webster at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 199 places (149 vs. 348).
