Softball Recap: Doniphan Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Doniphan got themselves on the board against Greenville on Tuesday, but Greenville never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Dons have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

MaKenzie Taylor was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Audrey Watson was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Dalila Watson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Doniphan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenville only posted an OBP of .167.

Doniphan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Greenville, they dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Doniphan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenville, they will host Naylor at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
